Corrosion-Resistant, Electroless Nickel Plating Now Available on Most Viking Sprinklers

Thursday, February 27, 2014

Hastings, Michigan, USA - Viking Corporation, a global leader in fire protection and life safety systems, announces the expanded availability of its corrosion-resistant “ENT” plating throughout a significant portion of its sprinkler product line. The innovative ENT plating provides an enhanced level of protection in any environment where sprinkler corrosion is a potential concern, such as industrial wash down areas, chemical processing facilities, and certain manufacturing environments, as well as exposed installations such as parking garages and balconies, particularly those near the ocean.

All Viking sprinklers with the “Electroless Nickel PTFE” (ENT) plating have been tested and listed by UL as corrosion-resistant. Most of Viking’s ENT plated sprinklers are also approved by Factory Mutual for installation in corrosive environments. The ENT plating is durable and inherently resistant to scratching, chipping, and flaking. In addition to its anti-corrosion properties, the ENT finish is aesthetically pleasing and suitable for decorative applications.

Viking’s expanded line of ENT plated sprinklers includes several standard coverage, extended coverage, ELO, residential, and dry sprinkler options.
