FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CaledoniaMichigan – The Viking Corporation announces the availability of its Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) Spill Containment UnitsThe FM Approved units provide a new option for fire protection challenges associated with flammable liquids stored in composite IBCs within manufacturing, industrial or other similar type environments.

The challenges associated with composite IBCs are well known,” says Martin Workman, Vice President – Product Management. “We worked closely with end users to modify our existing Approved product in order to help meet the needs of our customers.”

In the event of a spill, the containment units capture the ignitable liquid released from the IBC. The liquid is then deposited into a holding tank with a capacity of 150% of the composite IBC for which it is designed. This allows the unit to capture water or foam discharged by a fire protection system. A flame arrestor protects the containment sump from fire

Viking’s IBC spill containment units feature unique installation features, ensuring added convenience for usersThe units are offered with their sides up or sides down, allowing for options when being placed in the facility. The units also feature a convenient folding access door for forklifts and pallet trucks, and both the Model 275 and Model 330 have a footprint of 57.5” x 70.5”, and are 92” and 98” tall when fully assembled, respectively.
