Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Viking Group Inc. (the “Company, “we”, “us”) are committed to protecting and respecting privacy and the protection of information that may be used to identify you directly or indirectly (“Personal Data”). This Privacy Statement explains our approach with respect to Personal Data we collect on our website https://www.vikinggroupinc.com (the “Site”) and in connection with the products, applications, and services that we provide. 


2. What Personal Data Do We Collect?

(i) Personal Data You Provide to Us 

When you purchase products or services from us, we may collect the following information that may, alone or in combination with other information, constitute Personal Data: 

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Job title
  • Phone number
  • Company name
  • Your mailing list subscription or choice of marketing communications.

You have no obligation to provide the Personal Data described above, but if you don’t provide such Personal Data, we may not be able to provide you our products and services, or send news alerts to you. Please note that you have the right to opt out of receiving electronic direct marketing communications, such as news alerts, from us. All electronic direct marketing communications that you may receive from us, such as e-mail messages, give you an option of not receiving such communications from us in the future. (ii) When You Communicate With Us

When you communicate with us on and through the Site, call us, e-mail us, or otherwise communicate with us, we collect the following identifiers that may, alone or in combination with other information, constitute Personal Data:

  • Company name;
  • Contact information such as email address and a street address; and
  • Content of communications sent to us.

You have no obligation to provide the Personal Data described above, but if you don’t provide such Personal Data, we will not be able to respond to your communications to us.


(iii) When You Submit an Application for an Open Position

When you visit the “Careers” page on the Site, we may use a third-party vendor to collect the following identifiers and professional information that may, alone or in combination with other information, constitute Personal Data:

  • Name;
  • Contact information such as phone number and/or e-mail address;
  • The content of your resume/CV;
  • Publicly available professional social media (e.g. LinkedIn) profile information available through links submitted in connection with your application; and
  • Any other information you choose to submit with your application.

You have no obligation to provide the Personal Data described above, but if you don’t provide such Personal Data, we may not be able to process your application.


(iv) When You Use Our Virtual Reality Applications (“Apps”) 

When you use our Apps such as those available on Steam and Meta platforms, we may collect the following information that alone or in combination with other information may constitute Personal Data: 

  • Name;
  • Contact information such as phone number and/or e-mail address;
  • Customer Company Name;
  • Where applicable, dimension, volume, or certain space measurements.


(v) Internet Activity Information

Software used on the Site may collect Internet or other electronic network activity information that may, alone or in combination with other information, constitute Personal Data:

  • The domain from which you access the Site;
  • The type of browser and operating system used in the device you use to access the Site;
  • Internet Protocol (IP) address;
  • Imprecise geolocation;
  • The date and time you visited the Site (time stamp);
  • The pages browsed on the Site;
  • Time spent viewing the Site;
  • On which page you end, or exit, your Site browsing;
  • The website used to link to the Site from;
  • Any search terms used to navigate the Site;
  • Products or services viewed on the Site;
  • A browsing session ID; and
  • Whether you are a first-time visitor to the Site.

Google Analytics is an element of the Site. By using cookies, Google Analytics collects and stores data such as time of visit, pages visited, time spent on each page of the Site, the Internet Protocol address, and the type of operating system used in the devices used to access the Site. By using a browser plugin available at http://www.google.com/ads/preferences/plugin/ provided by Google, you can opt out of Google Analytics.


3. The Sources of Personal Data

We collect Personal Data from the following categories of sources:

  • You: When you voluntarily provide Personal Data to us; and
  • Software: Information automatically collected via cookies, web logs, web beacons, and other software-based analytics tools.
  • Companies that provide services to us, such as event organizers. 


4. Why We Collect Personal Data About You

We may use Personal Data about you for the following purposes:

  • To communicate with you;
  • To operate and improve the Site, including through analytics to help us understand how you use the Site, so that we can present content in the best manner;
  • To provide you with the Apps and improve the functionality and organization of the Apps;
  • To enforce the terms and conditions that govern the Site and/or the Apps;
  • To provide our products and services to you;
  • To provide customer service;
  • To provide you with any information that you request from us;
  • Human resources management;
  • To notify you about changes to our products and services;
  • To enable us to issue a notice, administrative, or corrective action to you in relation to our products and services, if required;
  • To send you direct marketing messages that you have consented to receive;
  • To protect against, identify and prevent fraud and other unlawful activity, claims and other liabilities;
  • To comply with applicable legal requirements, industry standards, and our own policies;
  • Where permitted by law, to provide you with information about products and services that we offer that are similar to those you have already purchased; and
  • To protect the Site and the Apps, our intellectual property rights, and other rights. 


5. How We Disclose Personal Data

Service providers: We use service providers such as website hosting and management companies, recruiting software providers, data storage and data analysis companies and marketing technology companies. Parties to a corporate transaction or proceeding: In the event of a corporate sale, merger, reorganization, bankruptcy, dissolution or similar event, Personal Data may be part of the transferred assets.

Public authorities and legal proceedings: Company may disclose Personal Data about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as required by law, and disclose and use such information as we believe necessary or appropriate to (a) comply with applicable laws and lawful requests and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas or requests from government authorities; (b) enforce the terms and conditions that govern the Site and/or the Apps; (d) protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of you or others; and (e) protect, investigate and deter against fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical or illegal activity.

6. Your Rights

By law, you may have certain rights when it comes to Personal Data about you. These rights vary depending on the state where you reside, but they generally include: 

  • Opt-Out of Receiving Marketing Emails. You can request that we send you marketing information and sign up for electronic newsletters about our products and food related information through your account with us. You can also request that we stop sending you marketing or other promotional communications through the opt-out link in any of these communications, or by using the information provided in Contact Us.
  • Access Personal Data and Obtain a Copy of Personal Data. You can confirm whether or not we are processing Personal Data about you, access such Personal Data, and obtain a copy of such Personal Data.
  • Correct Personal Data. You can review and edit the Personal Data we process about you by contacting us using the information provided in Contact Us.
  • Delete Personal Data: In certain circumstances you can delete the Personal Data that we process about you. You can submit a request to delete Personal Data about you by contacting us using the information provided in Contact Us.
  • Opt-out: In certain circumstances, you have the right to opt out of the processing of Personal Data for purposes of targeted advertising, the sale of Personal Data, or profiling in furtherance of automated decisions that produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significant effects concerning you.
  • To request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of Personal Data collected about you;
  • To request the disclosure of the business purpose for collecting or selling Personal Data; the categories of third parties with whom it is shared, and the categories of sources from which Personal Data is collected;
  • To request the deletion of Personal Data, subject to the limitations set forth in California Civil Code Section 1798.105(d); and
  • Not to be discriminated against for exercising the rights guaranteed by California Civil Code Section 1798.100 et seq.

You may be permitted by law to authorize someone else to act as your agent to exercise some of your rights on your behalf. In such cases, your authorized agent must provide documentation supporting his or her authority to make this request on your behalf. In some cases, we may also require you to verify your identity directly with us and confirm the request before we process it.  

For your protection, we take reasonable steps to verify all requests before they are processed. This may include, for example, a request from us for you to confirm your identity, to validate documents you submit to us, to verify your authority to make the request, or for other purposes. In all cases, we reserve the right to deny your request in accordance with applicable law if we cannot verify you or your authority to make the request.   

If we decline to take action regarding your request, you may have the right to appeal. Please contact us at [email protected] if you would like to submit such an appeal.

Additionally, you may contact your state’s attorney general if you have concerns about the results of the appeal.

7. California Privacy Rights

7.1. Direct Marketing Disclosures

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits the users of the Site who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Data to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please contact us at [email protected].

7.3. Requests to Know

You have the right to request that we disclose:

  1. The categories of Personal Data we collect;
  2. The categories of Personal Data we have sold or disclosed for a business purpose;
  3. The categories of sources from which we collect Personal Data about you;
  4. Our business or commercial purpose for selling or collecting Personal Data;
  5. The categories of Personal Data sold or shared about you, as well as the categories of third parties to whom the Personal Data was sold, by category of Personal Data for each party to whom information was sold;
  6. The specific pieces of Personal Data collected about you.

Delivery may take place electronically or by mail. We are not required to respond to requests relating to Personal Data more than twice in a 12-month period.

7.4. Requests to Delete

With certain exceptions, you have the right to request that we delete any Personal Data we have collected about you. Upon receiving a verified request to delete Personal Data about you, we will do so unless otherwise authorized by law.

7.5. Verifiable Requests

We will acknowledge the receipt of requests to know or requests to delete Personal Data free of charge, within ten (10) business days. In order to protect your privacy and the security of Personal Data, we may verify your request by asking you to provide additional Personal Data for us to verify your identity. We will respond to your request within 45 calendar days of receipt, provided that we have been able to successfully verify your identity.

7.6. Sale or Sharing of Personal Data

In the last 12 months, we have not “sold” or “shared” Personal Data as defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA). The CCPA defines “selling” as sharing, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating Personal Data to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration. The CCPA defines “sharing” as sharing, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating Personal Data to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising (or “targeted advertising”). Consequently, we do not have a Do Not Sell or Share My Info-functionality on the Site.

8. Security of Personal Data

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect Personal Data from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction, considering the risks involved in the processing and the nature of the Personal Data. Despite these efforts to store Personal Data collected on the Site and otherwise by us in a secure operating environment that is not available to the public, we cannot guarantee the security of Personal Data during its transmission or its storage on our systems. Further, while we attempt to ensure the integrity and security of Personal Data, we cannot guarantee that our security measures will prevent third parties such as so-called hackers from illegally obtaining access to Personal Data. We do not warrant or represent that Personal Data about you will be protected against, loss, misuse, or alteration by third parties.


9. Data Retention

We will only retain Personal Data about you for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes Personal Data was collected for, including the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for Personal Data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the Personal Data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of Personal Data, the purposes for which we process Personal Data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and applicable legal requirements.


10. Links to Other Websites

The Site may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave the Site, we do not have any control over third party websites. We cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any Personal Data which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this Privacy Statement. You should exercise caution and review the privacy policy applicable to the website in question.


11. Personal Data Relating to Children

The Site and/or the Apps are not intended for children under 16 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 16. If we learn we have collected or received Personal Data from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that Personal Data. If you believe we might have any Personal Data from or about a child under 16, please contact us at the email in the Contact Us section below.


12. How Do We Use Cookies?

Some of the features on the Site require the use of "cookies" - small text files that are stored on your device's hard drive. We use cookies to measure which pages are being accessed, and which features are most frequently used. This enables us to continuously improve the Site to meet the needs of our visitors.

14. Do Not Track (‘DNT’) Settings

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser Do Not Track (DNT) signals. Because there currently isn’t an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we don’t respond to them at this time.
