Tenant Fit-Out Sprinklers

This made-to-order XT1 sprinkler platform, with the addition of a 1" NPT thread option, provides contractors with another connection size to better match system design and piping configurations. This configuration is intended for use in new commercial buildings that are constructed without a defined ceiling or wall layout and are awaiting tenant build-out.

If a tenant later installs a ceiling below the original piping height, the 1" XT1 sprinkler can be removed, and sprinkler piping or flexible connections can be installed to match the new ceiling height and configuration. This replaces the previous method of installing a 1" outlet that required a bushing or bell reducer for temporary use.

By incorporating a 1" NPT connection, contractors can utilize a single threaded connection point when drops are installed below the piping. This reduces potential leak points and simplifies installation. Additionally, when sprinklers are installed in listed fittings such as InstaSeal®, they are permitted to be removed and reinstalled in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation and maintenance instructions.

The addition of 1" NPT options further expands the XT1 sprinkler platform, giving contractors and designers more flexibility while maintaining consistency within Viking’s next-generation sprinkler lineup.
